Me and my Zen

As part of a stress relief exercise, the itching need to just play and experimenting with a different genre of music, I decided to play a short 20 minute gig, with select minus one tracks from "In session with The Dave Weckl Band" and "Contemporary Drummer plus One", at the Alliance Francaise a few months ago. Here are the videos:

Live at Alliance Francaise, Part 1
A little meandering and loosening up of the limbs,if I might add, plus it was just me,so WTF? :)

Live at Alliance Francaise, Part 2
My interpretation of "Rainy Day" by "Dave Weckl"

Live at Alliance Francaise, Part 3
My interpretation of "The Zone" by the "Dave Weckl Band"

Live at Alliance Francaise, Part 4
My interpretation of "Designer Stubble" by the "Dave Weckl Band"

Hiatus and such like things

Playing with No Idea(for about 5 odd years, from 2002)improved me extensively as a musician and drummer and often put me in the (quite unenviable,i must add) role of band leader.
Post the GIR victory, the Norway tour and recording the album(most of which still needs to be mixed and lies, to date, in my hard drive), we took a break, one that needs to yet be gotten out of, owing to BLUR(on mine and Videep's parts) and other debilitating factors .We hope to be back soon.In the meanwhile, I will try and upload the songs that will be part of the album( roughly mixed!).
Most people ask me why I don't play anymore and if I play at all.The truth of the matter is that I miss playing with my band, with No Idea.
I have also started working on material of my own, which I hope to finish and play live soon.

Hello there

I have, for reasons varying from laziness to corporate whoredom, refrained thus far from putting my thoughts down for posterity. I hope I shall be able to offer my opinions on music, musicality and musicianship on a (fairly,if not) regular basis in the months to come. I also hope to be able to catalogue my musical career thus far.

Cheers and keep visiting often!
